Assistant Accountant My client based in Huntingdon are recruiting for an Assistant Account to join them on a 6-month FTC. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join an ever-growing business who excelling in their market. About the role Responsibility for the daily cash book reconciliations, ensuring the banks are posted and reconciled Overall responsibility of P&L, Cash flow and Balance Sheet from both an actual and forecasting perspective. Review and oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts Reporting of results via the management accounts and related Board Pack, including business analysis & commentary on results. Consolidate all financial reporting into Group reporting structure. Ensure financial integrity of statutory accounts and management accounts, including adherence to UK GAAP. Compliance with statutory Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE requirements, including accountability for: Timely and accurate preparation of Tax/PAYE submissions and payments. Submission of quarterly VAT returns and monthly VAT payments on account. Introduce a more formal control environment to mitigate financial risk, whilst also seeking efficiencies and smarter ways of working. Liaising with various stakeholders, both within the wider EPM business and the Group's finance team, to understand, and be able to, forecast and report the full picture. Ownership and coordination of all budgets and forecasting processes, including responsibility for: Ensuring timetable and budget requirements are adhered to. Build and manage relationships, such that relevant analysis, support and advice can be provided to inform decision making, resource planning, pricing, investments etc. Ongoing provision to the business of meaningful analysis of run rates, trends, business behaviours, customer behaviours, etc. using this analysis to challenge performance and identify opportunities for growth. Work with Directors/Assistant Directors to closely monitor and drive-up performance in their areas and ensure that business objectives are achieved. Work with the business to help them develop their understanding of Company finances and impact of decision making. Coordinate all audits/visits from key stakeholders and ensure any suggested remedial actions are resolved in a timely manner. Motivate, develop, and manage the Accounts Assistant. In conjunction with Group finance, develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that the Company complies with financial procedures and regulations. Where appropriate, manage financial system projects within the business. This may include implementation of new systems, upgrades to existing system or implementing process changes. What it will take to be successful: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with a minimum of 3-5 years' PQE Significant experience at Financial Controller level within a medium sized commercial, customer driven environment Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring/analytical mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success Proven experience preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports, and data Sound accounting knowledge and experience, as well as a good depth of understanding of financial reporting under UK GAAP For more information on the role call Kaleigh on 01733 235111.
