Do you have experience in a fabrication environment? Our client is a leading specialist nickel alloy fabricator looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their Nottingham fabrication workshop. Quality Control Inspector Nottingham Full time Salary dependent on experience About the Quality Control Inspector role: The suitable candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all fabrications are delivered dimensionally correct and conforming to standard. The role will involve controlling, maintaining and improving the overall quality of fabrications and projects throughout the workshop using best industry practices. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise , along with the ability to exercise initiative , sound judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment. As a Quality Control Inspector your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Carrying out and signing off shop floor inspections on all Fabrication contracts. Carrying out and ensuring traceability of all materials. Shop floor patrols aimed at spotting and acting on potential quality issues before they occur. Carrying out and/or oversee Hydro-Static & Pneumatic pressure testing where applicable. Assisting the Production department as required. Liaising with client/third party Inspectors. Witnessing and compiling paperwork for PQR/WQR Testing. Preparing various reports and release notes. Reasonable overtime may be required for supervision cover. The Ideal candidate will have: Experience in a Fabrication & Welding environment - this is essential . Experience or knowledge of the basic NDT methods- RT, DPI, MPI, UT etc Understanding of major welding processes. Medium/Heavy engineering experience in an industrial environment. Ability to identify issues to make changes and encourage improvement Apprentice trained or time served Fabricator/Plater.
