Service Engineer

Position: Service Engineer Location: Midlands & Nationwide Start date: Immediate Duration: Permanent Hours: 37.5 hrs/week overtime travel Salary: £32-35,000/annum overtime pension bonus van The Role: Our client, a market leading engineering company who specialise in the power generation and petrochemical sectors, are currently recruiting for an additional permanent Service Engineer to be based in the Midlands and covering sites throughout the UK. Duties will include:
• Carrying out regular planned mechanical maintenance as well as outage work and breakdowns on clients' installed equipment
• Setting up, adjusting and inspecting metalworking and pipe working machines and equipment in line with work instructions and inspection report
• Selecting appropriate materials and equipment for particular jobs
• Following plant safety and production policies and procedures
• Recognising sales opportunities for spares, service and upgrades; mainly in soot blowing and ancillary equipment. Surveying existing plant and providing reports / recommendations with a view to spares/service opportunities
• Evaluating, repairing and Maintaining existing plant/equipment on and off customer premises
• Planning visits and be managing your schedule and work load
• Producing site reports Requirements:
• HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• Previous maintenance fitting experience
• Must be able to work safely and effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage own work schedules
• Must be comfortable working at extreme heights and in confined spaces
• Must be able to work in a hot dusty environment with varying temperatures (cold/hot)
• Able to perform heavy lifting and other physical labour
• Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the UK
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills
• IT literate
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Sootblowing experience (desirable)
