Transforming Care Services are a management consultancy offering support to clients nationally in the social care sector. The client does this by working with the people they support, their families and partner agencies to deliver innovative, high quality services that meet individual needs and aspirations in a person-centered way.The client is a not-for-profit organisation which provides high quality, person-centred support to older people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism and people with physical disabilities and mental health needs. We are an Investor in People accredited employer of a diverse team of over 5,000 well supported staff across England. Our services in London and the South East employ over 600 staff supporting around 1,000 people with care and support needs. The Registered Service Manager will lead the operational management of a new specialist supported living service located in Braintree. The service has been developed to meet the needs of people who have a learning disability and/or autism and complex needs, including mental health needs and behaviours which challenge. As a number of service users will have forensic histories there will be a requirement for positive and robust risk management. The service will support 10 people in an attractive new-build supported housing scheme, commissioned as part of the Transforming Care Programme in Essex. The accommodation is brand new and has been carefully designed to meet the needs of individuals with a range of needs and special requirements. Tenants are expected to move from hospital and residential settings and will need well planned, personalised support to allow them to make a successful transition to supported living and to become more confident and independent. The Registered Service Manager will ensure that the service is of the highest quality, meeting all CQC standards and contract requirements and that this can be demonstrated through comprehensive quality and contract monitoring processes. You will ensure that the service works in a cohesive and coordinated manner and that service users experience fully integrated care, support and housing. You will ensure that the care and support delivered is truly personalised and provided in accordance with agreed care plans, enabling service users to enjoy wellbeing, quality of life and community connections. Understand capacity, best interests, Dols, Physical Intervention, Positive Behavioural Support and the needs of adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. Ideally you will also have experience working with individuals with forensic backgrounds but the organisation are willing to train - but you must have be robust and emotionally resilient to cope with the demands of this work. The Manager will work some shifts, including some evenings and weekends and some bank holidays. It is important this person has a visible management presence to ensure staff are able to cope with the challenges of working with this group of people. This person will lead by example not words.
