The Post

The College requires the Plumbing Technician to form the core ‘in-house’ capability in the College maintenance team.  The maintenance team ensure the campus and the facilities are looked after and work is carried out to the highest standards whilst working within a busy and challenging educational environment.  To that end all members of the team are to be capable of making decisions and prioritising workload where necessary to ensure the operational effectiveness of the academic provision and pastoral care is maintain at all times.  An ability to be flexible in ways of working is essential. Further skills required include the ability to communicate with all levels of the College and to work under their own initiative and to oversee all maintenance duties specified by the Estates Manager/Building Maintenance Supervisor.

The Technician is expected to be capable of delivering a wide range of basic trade skills i.e. plumbing joinery/locksmith/bricklaying/painting/glazing/general building maintenance, it is essential that they are multi skilled but with a plumbing bias.

The role is 52 weeks per year working Monday to Friday plus three hours Saturday mornings during term time.
