Burwell Ex Service and Social Club is looking for a new Bar Manager. Having a responsibility for the premises, a duty of care to the Club (committee), the members and its standing within the community. You will work with the committee to develop and implement changes, taking part in promotional campaigns to drive sales whilst maintaining the general running of the bar and supervision of the bar staff. Reporting to the committee your duties will include:
Working own bar shifts.
Ensure the club premises are opened and closed as provided for in the rules and that the registered hours for the supply of intoxicants are strictly observed.
Liaise closely with club officers.
Manage cash flow and as appropriate daily reconciliation of takings.
Cellar management: to include weekly line cleaning and general upkeep of cellar.
Stock control and appropriate rotation.
Staff rotas (Covering for sickness and holiday when required)
Supervision of Bar and cleaning staff.
Fruit machine maintenance and weekly reconciliation.
Diary management of function bookings.
Sports club’s registration and tea provision (as required)
Maintenance and upkeep of internal sporting facilities: (Pool/Snooker table)
Ensures health and safety compliance.
Attends monthly committee meetings: Providing a bar report, operational updates and issues.
Relevant skills and experience required:
At least 4 years’ experience in managing a licensed premise.
Staff management and training.
Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability within a licensed premise.
Good communications and customer service skills.
Cellar management, stock control and auditing.
Financial astute: understanding of budgeting, bank reconciliations, dealing with cash.
Valid Driving licence.
Can do attitude, flexible, innovative.
