Night Carers

Location: The Hailey & Wimbledon House
Start: Immediate
Salary: Dependent on Qualifications

Details: The Hailey and Wimbledon House are recruiting Night Carers to work in their busy residential care home looking after service users with Mental Health needs. 12 hour shifts working from 8pm - 8am Applicants will ideally have care experience however full induction and training is provided. 

 Main Tasks of Job:

1) To receive daily instruction from Management regarding care and specific tasks to be carried
out during the night.

2) To carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by management as set on the
PassSystem for those with specific needs at night time with due regard for residents privacy.

3) To assist and oversee residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and
continence support at night and in the morning. Additionally assist those with mobility issues,
physical disabilities and help in the use of care aids and equipment.

4) Assist residents with breakfast, additionally those who have specific dietary needs, e.g.
diabetics. Maintaining food hygiene procedures and safe food handling.

5) To help care for residents who are dying under the guidance of community health teams.

6) To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through talking, sharing
with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.

7) To record and document on the PassSystem adequate records of client care and support,
ensuring assessments, care plans and risk assessments are followed. Making management
aware of any relevant updates are required on IT equipment. Maintain the safe use of IT
equipment, that tablets are charged and fully operational and ensure the safe use of tablets to
prevent damage.

8) Ensure that passwords are not shared and records are not completed on behalf of others to
maintain date protection of client information.

9) Follow all policies and procedures particularly the safe administration of medicines.

10) Regularly update management of changes to client and staff needs.

11) Document any health concerns/issues raised by residents or their relatives, ensure this
documentation is bought to the attention of management.

12) Administer medication according to company policy and training.

13) To ensure Health & Safety of the home under the health and safety legislation and fire
regulations.

14) Undertake domestic duties as directed in time available between attending to resident needs.

15) Preparation of vegetables, supper and breakfast.

16) To take responsibility of Home in absence of more senior management

17) To undertake other duties as necessary
