Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor
Company: The Cambridgeshire Cottage Housing Society (a subsidiary of English Rural Housing Association)
Area of operation: Resident Services
Responsible to: Resident Services Director
Hours: 30 hours per week (part time / flexible hours) - will consider full time applications (37.5 hours per week)
Place of work: Based in and around rural South Cambridgeshire (Hybrid working)
Salary: £45,470 (FTE) per annum Inclusive of Car User allowance (Salary may be negotiable in alignment with relevant skills and experience)
Pension entitlement: Company Stakeholder Scheme
Annual leave entitlement: 30 days per annum

The Cambridgeshire Cottage Housing Society (TCCHS) is a subsidiary of English Rural Housing Association (the Group) who are a leading national rural specialist working to provide affordable homes in small villages for local people.

TCCHS are now recruiting for a self-sufficient Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor in the Cambridgeshire area.

About the role

This is an exciting new opportunity focused on delivering a high-quality repairs, maintenance and void management. This is an autonomous role working under the leadership of the Resident Services Director and collaboratively with housing and asset management colleagues within the Group.

This role will be a hybrid working arrangement but principally working from home, with some occasional attendance at the London office.

The main purpose is to:

  • Lead on surveying of a diverse range of homes incorporating listed properties - overseeing repairs and maintenance investment.
  • Deliver an agreed approach to asset management, including rationalisation and programme of disposals.
  • Enhance contractor relationships, improving quality, performance and value.
  • Ensure that data is kept effectively supporting efficient use of approved software.
  • Advise and support the delivery of the Service Agreement between the subsidiary housing association and parent association.
  • Deliver comprehensive and inclusive processes ensuring a quality offer to residents.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering a repairs and maintenance service.

You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaborate and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Experience in contract management, technical surveying and delivering customer satisfaction are essential.

The right candidate will have sufficient technically expertise, either from a formal qualification or direct experience.

Previous experience of working on listed properties with a high-degree of conservation requirements is desirable.
