Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school.
It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students
from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth;
Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for
students in Year 12 and Year 13. Both locations provide an exciting, dynamic learning environment,
where students display a positive attitude to learning and make good progress.
Required from September 2022:

Science Technicians

(Physics and Chemistry)
£17,799 per annum (£20,443 pro rata)
37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
You will support our staff and students by providing effective and efficient technical and
administrative support within the Science Department and be proactive and enthusiastic.
You will join our large and supportive Science department under the direction of the Subject
Lead you will coordinate the use, development and delivery of practical science resources,
ICT resources and facilities, including the provision of guidance and support in meeting the
practical requirements of the science curriculum; liaising with all areas of the college and
outside organisations.
